So far, this book has been a struggle. Lots of names/people, Indian and white, to try to keep track of. There is a lot of drawn out story, so to speak. Not enough analysis or discussion to keep me engaged.
I entered this book having a pretty good idea of how unfairly the Government and whites treated the Indians. I hope the book will educate me further and the author will at some point interject more discussion.

Lots of tribes, chiefs and warriors to keep track of. Hoping I can walk away with a general picture of events with less importance of dates and names. So far, it feels like this could get overwhelming.

Very interesting. The more I read, the more I want to know about Germany, Hitler, and Japan.

Excellent read—overall. There are parts less interesting to me. Pushing through and learning a lot about WWII, interactions with Truman’s cabinet and Allied Nations. The Atom Bomb is in its final stage of development for testing. Truman seeks guidance as to next steps to end the war with Japan.

Enjoying this easy to read and follow story of FDR’s successor.

So far, I am a bit bored, and I struggle with the author’s style. It feels bland.

Brilliance! From his birth into slavery to gaining an education at Hampton Institution, Washington was smart, eloquent, observant of human nature. I am only 30% in, but this piece educates and inspires me to be and do more.

Omg, another outstanding find. Only 6% through and know I will be in awe throughout. It really pays to focus on the best rated books (4.4 stars and higher). It is a real gift to experience such incredible works.

Excellent. It is well written, educational and highly engaging. For me—as challenged as I am to read—I find this book difficult to put down.

Exceptional work. Uncomfortably enlightening. Necessary information. Honest.

Excellent book. I am greatly enjoying his post-presidential activities and everyone’s reflections on the man, his character, his successes, and future plans. More comments to come.
