How am I only half way through this story but I feel like we‘ve already battled 5 years of war?! Love it but can she maybe rest for a second? :D

I‘m having a hard time liking the story, because I‘m having a hard time emphasizing with the mother/daughter dynamics and relationship.
I liked the first chapter and got completely dragged out of that feeling the second she started talking about her childhood in the second chapter. It somehow made me lose all interest in the story. :/

Fizzy has to be my most loved side character of all the books I‘ve read in the last 1 1/2 years. I just KNEW that she had main character potential. Love it already.

I got intrigued by all the 1 star ratings and DNFs. Of course I wanted to see for myself and picked up the reading sample.
But what can I say… I don’t hate it. 😅

So what do I do now?? Does it get worse after chapter 3 or am I gonna be fine if I think it is fine up until now?
For reference, I don’t know a single thing about the Shakespeare story this book is inspired by. So the story is completely new to me.

From all the reviews I've seen and heard before I thought I might hate this book, but I actually really like it so far.

How can someone's writing be this smooth?!
