Bee Deratour is 10% done with A Touch of Malice (Hades x Persephone Saga, #3)
I'm giving this series another go to see if I can get back into it. Ive realized though that I think I only like smut when it actually adds to the story - which has me feeling like this is going to disappoint me. I also was getting super sick of Persephone in the last book I read, so I'm hoping since some time has passed, I can not be as salty.

So far, I'm really glad I picked this for my current read - it's been a minute since I was thrown into the depths of world building and making sense of a new fantasy story. I like the idea so far and am very intrigued to keep reading. I actually also love all the glossaries in the beginning - very helpful and not intimidated like I thought they'd be 😅😅

Y'all - this is so far super super interesting! I highly recommend everyone read this one. Everyone has been or is still affected by diet culture and this is just a wild / great read so far.

I don't think I'm going to finish this. Or maybe I am out of gross curiosity but man, this is one of the rare instances where I firmly believe the screen adaptation is 1000% better than the source materials. I'm definitely not a fan of this read.

I'm struggling so much to get through this one, but not because it's triggering or making me feel a weird way. I'm just so bored and there's so much word building and info dumping. I just can't stay focused but then there's actual story progression for bits in between that is keeping me interested but ~barely~

Oh man, this was my friend recommendation for February but I genuinely can't get into this book. Normally I try to give things 50 pages at least, but I actually feel stressed at the idea of reading more of it because I am just not enjoying it at all 🤣 Gonna DNF this one which leaves me at 2/12 friend recs being DNF'd. (January's book I still am gonna try again this year. This one I don't foresee doing that)

As I'm reading this all I could think was that this banter and these characters feel exhausting. Then I scrolled through reviews to see I am definitely not the only one to think that. I was super looking forward to this read, but even just this far in, I'm not so sure now. We shall see.

I don't know what it is about this, but I'm not overly vibing with it right now. There's a weird back and forth between really juvenile language and more adult language, which throws me off a bit. I am going to try to read a different book then come back to this maybe.

I really don't know about this one. It's a very quick and easy read, but it's not anything I'm super invested in. It annoys me immensely that the author didn't just write "demon" but instead spells it daimon with a pronunciation guide saying it's demon. The KU version has the Novella at the front, but I don't know. I'll probably give this another 100 pages or so before deciding to DNF or keep going.

Apparently reading this book in 3 formats makes Goodreads repeatedly think I've finished it before I have. I'm hoping to finish today or tomorrow but definitely moving much slower in this book than I did the first.

I honestly went into this book super nervous because everyone warned me about the intensity of the world building. I wasn't sure if that would overpower everything for me, but damn, I'm having a great time reading this! I regret being so dang hesitant. 😅

Ugh, I seriously love this man. This memoir is so beautifully crafted, organized, and eloquent. He's just such a badass. The audiobook is him reading so that is also super fun, because he is very easy to listen to.

I genuinely feel this may be one of the worst books I've ever read, and that saddens me. I don't know if I can force myself through the rest of this.

The concept at a very, very surface level has potential but the story has taken so many extremes to try to make the plot fit the plan for it and it's just awful.

The only reason I would finish is a slight curiosity to if it gets any better. 🫠

So far, I seriously don't like this book. This is the first CoHo book that I just feel like I'm trudging through because a friend told me it gets better. So far though, the things I despise don't seem like things that will just magically become better. A good chunk of it is because of the way it's written and just on CoHo.

Meh. I'm giving it another 100 pages before I DNF it entirely.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I do so far. Something about these characters is likable. It's got a vibe of New girl meets the The Ugly Truth? Which I didn't know I wanted so badly? Question marks because I am just shocked that this cliche book has me so 🤤. So far, the spice is also 👌👌.

I have to admit - I don't love this. This story is so so predictable, and the timeline seems to sit weird with me for some reason. Or maybe it's Brendan's character, there's just something that feels like it skipped a step. I will say though, Tessa Bailey does write good spicy scenes. There's been some parts that I've just cringed at. So far I'm thinking this will be a ⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
