Every minute that passes in this audiobook, I hate the main characters more. West? Fine. Bash? Interesting. Gemma and Ford Sr.? Love them. Ford Jr and Rosie? Can't stand them.

Wow, we're 75% of the way through and we're finally getting our, what? Fourth mention of West? The catalyst of the problem of the relationship building? This book doesn't know what it wants its trope to be. Is it frenemies? Is it boss-employee? Is it best-friend's-sister? Couldn't tell you.

This book has a lot of personality. The characters don't, but the book does.

For a book based around the "best friend's little sister" trope, there's been a significant lack of the best friend in the story so far.

I feel like I know where this is going, and I don't know how the author is going to extend the plot to fit another seven hours worth of audiobook.

I am literally 4% through the audiobook and I am already PULLED IN.

I think I would like this book a lot better if I didn't absolutely despise the second male lead. Maybe it's because of prior experience with alcoholics, but I cannot stand this man.

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of how this book equates standing up for yourself to bullying.

This is quickly turning into my current-favorite book of the year. I'm flying through it. It's introducing me to many interesting titles that I otherwise wouldn't have heard about, and it's nice to see how the literature Kojima has read has impacted his work.

This chapter on Adolfo Costanzo is dragging in a major way and I am so bored with it now. I hope the next chapter is less crime drama and more cult.

This really had me engaged at the beginning, and then it just... sped through some really interesting things and somehow we got to our next destination in like ten minutes of reading time???

Talk about the cult of personality! This man really took people in their weakest moments and manipulated them in a major way. I'd heard about Jonestown before ("Drink the Kool-Aid" and all that), but never knew it was this wild.

I am obsessed with the world-building and character development already. This is what I want from a fantasy novel!

...I don't understand the following this book/series has. It would benefit incredibly from a "show, don't tell" mindset.
