Trying to be a reader again! Nobody can stop me from constantly starting new books until one sticks. Had wanted to read this for awhile, but when I picked it up at a bookstore and learned the protagonist was from Booneville MO it moved to the top of my list.

At the start of 2023, I set a goal to read 20 books. December and I am at 3. I have accepted the fact that, at this stage of my life, I am simply not a guy who will read 20 books a year. I am much more of a “read one 900 page book about American History a year” kinda guy. And that’s ok! Still want to read more in 24 - but I am less concerned with arbitrary numbers of books.

Oh and Path to Power fucking rules

First - it is very funny to look back at my last review and my declaration to read 20 books this year, seeing as it is June and I’m still on book 2 of the year - but hey summer is here and I’m getting back into the reading groove.

Second - wow this book is getting bleak!

pages 1-80: yeah this is pretty good
pages 80-125: oh this is GOOD. also it makes me feel BAD. but in a GOOD way.
