I decided to embark on a review of dystopian lit of the early 20th century. So far, this is a great... socialist manifesto, though I'm not sure if I would call it a great novel. I respect Avis Everhard's down-bad-ness for her future husband, and the socialist philosophy it promulgates is pretty strong (including some arguments I might tuck into my back pocket), but so far it reads like "and then everyone clapped."

Touching, despite being a bit self-indulgent. I hoped the Hell side of the plot would have been developed a bit more. That being said it did make me cry. Also maybe too much food porn! I was so hungry whenever I read.
