I listened to this as an audiobook and I am so happy I did! Hearing Malala’s story in her own voice was endearing. I loved her memoir. After being shot by the Taliban as a teenager, she never let them quiet her voice about the importance of a girls education. Incredible. Her courage, strength, humor and intelligence are highly commendable. I especially enjoyed her describing her experiences at Oxford. So fun!

I appreciate Mitch’s effort at keeping the horrors of the Holocaust alive. I liked the way he told the story of four different lives and how they were intertwined.
We toured Dachau last summer and history must never repeat itself.

I love Allen Eskins as a mystery writer so was looking forward to another one of his books, especially after reading the synopsis.
The fluid description of the characters and setting were incredibly real-I felt moments of anger, heartbreak and joy throughout the book. Although this takes place in the 70’s, I find we are having similar moments of hate and ignorance in today’s times. Will it ever get better?

Tammy Ludgatis is starting I Am Maria: My Reflections and Poems on Heartbreak, Healing, and Finding Your Way Home
As a sixty something woman myself, who has experienced all the ups and downs of life, I really connected with this book.
Her poems are deeply personal, and some precisely describe my own feelings during certain periods of life.
I borrowed this as a library book, but I will be buying it at some point so I can reflect on it time and again.
I wish Maria was my neighbor! I know we would also be good friends. In peace
