Eh. Fair insight, straightforward, kinda elementary so far.

Such a raw, compelling invitation to realize and free yourself to the power of prayer. It’s an opportunity to “reflect and engage” with a Father who both loves you, as well as wants to be closer to you. Miller points out how prayer highlights our “cracks” as Christians, and then graciously (and personally) walks us through how God loves us for those pieces that we bring to Him—and then some.

A bit stark in places, but unyielding in the best of ways. Sincere in its honest review of some of the most deadly facades that men in the modern era embrace for survival… and even more compassionate in its attempts to free men from them.

Incredibly humble reflections from an experienced, respected leader. Not some kind of authoritarian, cliquey, holier-than-thou book with the shiny facade of self-help, but a generous, biblical, and multi-perspective summary for anyone that seeks to understand the difficult mindsets and posture that should accompany responsibility.

Fascinating. Just getting through the bit about his mother’s psyche, and their family’s cumulative cultural-religious setting. Now that I’m getting to HIM… I’m practically holding my breath.

It’s a slow burn—in that it burns your soul. Slowly. Painfully. Requiring self evaluation and selfless action for the sake of other people.

Shaking up all the things in the best way. Mercy, grace, and love are indeed in these pages… but you have to see past the darkness that the world has imposed upon the body of Christ, and how the church has taken on culture rather than put on the character of Jesus.

Still putting me to sleep.

Unsurprisingly… heavy. Questions many of the sexual stigmas imposed on the Christian church for generations that are neither biblical nor logical.

Bursting with heart, humor, and hygge. Though I feel slighted that I was alerted to the presence of these books by the TV series, I now see that PBS not only accurately represents what a treasure these stories are to this day, but also they have introduced me to a new favorite author.

Gripping and absolutely heart wrenching.

Phenomenal poolside read. Lots of hilarious, poetic prose centered around family crises and everyday joys in between.
