I'm still waiting for something interesting to happen.

Paul is basically a Mary Sue of Tao Lin whose superpower is social disassociation. I find myself saying Oh shut up a lot while I read this.

I have been dragging my feet a bit with this one, there is a lot to take in and sift through here.. but believe the hype about JR. It's the real deal.

This is my kind of book.

This is an excellent book.

This has got to be the funniest book I've read so far.

Oh my God this book is a riot!

I looked her over. She was beautiful all right, beautiful in a way that was at once seductive, demonic, and raspberry.

This book has now alluded that the high school girl I have been reading about for, like, about 200 pages in a diary-like first person narrative is totally like similar to Anne Frank's struggle, death and legacy as a writer. This piece of shit book has totally now just had the high school girl totally make out with her boyfriend for the first time in Anne Frank's House. I hate this book.

The book is writing in first person.. this first person uses the word Like in the same way people I try to block out on the subway communicate with each other.. I am going to hate this book.

Ah yes.. some actual fantasy reading. It has a prologue.

So far it's amazing

Reading The Making of Americans by Gertrude Stein after WM would be the equivalent of self flagellation.

I believe I've now made a personal breakthrough with the reality depicted in WM: it's not an apocalyptic scenario (which even before I started reading seemed too straightforward and conventional to be the case, plus where are all the dead bodies?) The landscape painting in the house is a strong clue, that may or may not have a person in the window. It's the emptiness of a landscape. I'll expand on this in my review.

I would probably be enjoying this more if I haven't read Beckett's The Unnamable so recently. Solipsism and twitter had a baby.

As much as I am enjoying this series PROUST just goes on and on. It no surprise to me he used to smoke opium, very sleepy drone tone throughout the book.

This translation is so much better than the Monclief (spelling?) version of Swann's Way that I laboured through last year. I only wish I knew of the Lydia Davis translation at the time! Though, her Madame Bovary didn't exactly blow my little mind away, though I must admit the book wasn't quite my cup of tea anyways.

My reading speed continues to decline, savouring each sentence slowly. PROUST is a big fan of using analogy.

Swan's Way was the last book I started in 2012 and the first that I finished in 2013. I think I will make a yearly tradition of this.
