I feel like these poems should be performed, not simply read

The language in this book is absolutely gorgeously stunning, my god.

"Who will be lost in the story we tell ourselves? Who will be lost in ourselves? A story, after all, is a kind of swallowing. To open a mouth, in speech, is to leave only the bones, which remain untold."

"Better to alone than to be abandoned"

Im so sick and tired of this book... might take a break from it and try again later...

"But perhaps no parent can truly see their child. When we look we see only the mirror of our own faults."

I had no right to claim him, I knew it. But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me.

People whose opinions I trust and value love this book but I am Struggling to get through it....
