The Cousins and boys have just arrived and I have a terrible feeling about it all LOL

Pretty sure I'm going to not finish this one... so far I can not stand Jay he's is the single most annoying MC I've ever read and honestly some of the liens in this book are just too much for me... "It was in that moment, nothing but a gleam of hope in my eye and a bit of horniness in my crotch..." Along with all the Frack this and Frack that honestly just say Fuck it would be so much less annoying.

The timeline in this book is a big disaster but it’s and classic YA dystopian which I haven’t read in so long, so disastrous timeline aside I’m definitely enjoying this book.

Mark is an adult who acts like a child.... and u hate it

So far I’m just finding this mostly uncomfortable and honestly not that good... it’s definitely a cheesy DONT change yourself to get love book. But not in a fun way like DUFF or other YA contemporaries I’ve read. Maybe I’m just a little too old for this one. But I’m going push on maybe it pulls itself together in the end.

THIS BOOK IS MESSED UP!! But in the best way! It is horridly graphic like I can't eat and read at the same time, but it's so well written, I am shook!

Not gonna lie I forgot how much action there is in this book! I also forgot how much I loved these books!

Coach: "if you girls show us at the field tomorrow looking like a bunch of blue-haired weirdos, i'll quit on the spot."
First of all what grown man says this about and one, and secondly what COACH would say this about one of his players to another player? I can't actually decide if I'm enjoying this book or not, the pacing is definitely not my cup of tea but I guess the plot is ok.

I’m just over a quarter through and ‘coach’ is a terrible, and I mean terrible coach and person in my option and can’t see this being re deemed. He does not treat his team like people, these are teenage girls they make mistakes... as does everyone and he is just so aggressive and miserable. I can’t imagine playing for a coach like that... brutal.

I love how Marie Lu sets up and explains her worlds so thoroughly without it being overbearing and boring. She does a great job of blending plot and world building together!

So far this is really enjoyable there’s great action and it’s moving fairly quickly!! I love the characters and the writing style!

Just had to make note of this quote:

I think Wes is a great character I like how he acts and treats people and am really enjoying reading about him. He is so smart and likeable and different than any other character I've read by Andrews. I am very refreshed by Wes and who he is. I also really like how Ash is a huge part of the story, but she hasn't taken it over, she is subtly driving the story between Wes and Corey and the band and I really enjoy that

​This is probably what it's like to be an adult, and that a little bit sucks, but it sort of doesn't matter if it sucks or not, because it's reality and you just have to deal with it.

Ok I'm not going to lie this book is picking up rapidly, it is surprisingly hilarious and I don't mind the characters as much as I thought I would. The surprising, semi illegal road trip is full of hilarious dialogue and moments on the road. I actually think I might enjoy this book. The pacing thus far is also excellent I'm flying thorough this book.

So far this is reminding me a lot of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl in how much I really don't like it. It's just trying so hard to be edgy and weird that it's bad. I'm hoping it gets better but I'm not holding out hope. I think that this authors style just isn't for me but who knows maybe I'll be surprised.

So far I am really enjoying this story, and how beautifully it is crafted. Maguire is a beautiful writer not just in his plot and descriptions of the setting but in his characters. I love Elena, her optimistic outlook, as well as her interactions with those around her. She seems to be a ray of light in many peoples lives in a very trying time for them.

Good friendships are durable. They're meant to survive the gaps and the growing pains. What a great quote! I really appreciate how Julie Murphy writes friendships that are not perfect. Fighting with your friends is inevitable even your forever friends so its nice to see not just the love of the friendship but also the reality of it as well.

I love how Dumplin stands up to her mom and tells her how her treatment makes her feel. I think her mom is a small minded person who doesn't understand how her words and actions make others feel, or maybe she just doesn't care.

It was funny. I used to think of myself as a Monday and Ellen as a Friday. But Monday’s and Fridays were just twenty four hour stretches of time with different names.
