First time reading a book on release. Fun!

Going to Dublin so of course!

Sex, poetry and youth. Mexico City as boats against the current.

This will be my last book here in Japan before returning to my, well, snow country.

I’ll soon be going to the real town where Kafka takes place, so time to read some Murakami.

Sitting in an ramen place in Shibuya, chef looks like Kobo Abe.

Finished the first essay after some heavy neglect. Extremely funny so I will try to pick it up for real this time.

Sägande så skar hon av en lock med sin hand. I detsamma flydde värmen, och livet försvann i den flyktiga vinden.

Nu bär det av mot Roma.

“A sickened, sensitive shadow writhing in hands that are not not hands, and whirled blindly past ghastly midnights of rotting creation, corpses of dead worlds with sores that were cities, charnel winds that brush the pallid stars and make them flicker low.”

A picture of his soul as a town appeared once more before him but this time a town ravaged and stricken in the black path of his excess, and shutting his burning eyes he had thought of the beautiful functioning of the system in those who were truly alive, switches connected, nerves rigid only in real danger, and in nightmareless sleep now calm, not resting, yet poised: a peaceful village.

Hopefully this one is better than “the idiot”.

Done with antiquity, time for the Middle Ages and renaissance.

And so the journey begins…

First book done. So far - so good!
