Back on the reading books because it’s what my kids have to do vibe lol. I remembered reading this in like middle school and actually liking and in rereading it that still holds true. Og dystopian book and I’m into it.

Also a book I have to read to make a test for my kids and I’m just starting it rn and their test is in a week and I’m the one who has to make it so I’ve gotta speed run this

Been reading this for a few weeks now I don’t know why I didn’t mark it

This is the book my 8th graders are reading so I also have to read it so I can make a reading test about it.

Literally almost 300 pages into this book and I lowkey am so confused on what’s happening and am on 25% of the way through

It feels very 2000s with some interesting gender rolls and trying to be cool maybe

This bitch is absolutely insane, transphobic, and doesn’t understand the nuances that all people are different. I am genuinely concerned by how many 4/5 star reviews there are on this book of people recommending parents to read it. Don’t know how much longer/if I can continue to put up reading this. She also bashes so much on teachers in a way that is a complete misunderstanding of the system.

I can see the changes that have happened to musk and how his power and money has gone to his head overtime. In the parts describing the 2010s musk does seem to care about the environment, and I do believe that he chose to do things with the overarching goal of helping society and the environment but because he doesn’t care about people there are some huge gaps.

Yea mans had an interesting childhood and is definitely on the spectrum and straight up has no concept or desire to conceptualize empathy / sympathy / other people’s perspectives

Yea… I’m only reading because Walter Isaacson is a good biographer.

Honestly I’m reluctant to continue just because of how sad and heart wrenching this book is. It is beautifully written and a good story but intensely sad.

I listened to it and it was a very long book to listen to. It was fine. I’m glad I read the book but there were many times when I didn’t quite understand it.
