this book is absolutely not what I was expecting wow (it got better btw)

I’m uncomfortable and bored

after marinating on my tbr for 3 years I finally picked this up and immediately got hooked 🤡

I’m getting frustrated bc we keep switching between using characters’ first and last names but there’s not the in between step of [full name] so I just have to keep guessing if it’s a relative or the person we already know 😕

rin is such a fascinating protagonist. I’m in awe of her, I’m scared of her, I care for her, she’s not a good person and she’s not sane. and she’s 21.

I have to wait for dragon republic to become available on libby again so I’m picking up this in the meantime as a little change of pace from the count of monte cristo (loving it but it’s a lot of names and dialogue)

all I remember from my first read is that it made me hate regal with a passion, fitz goes a bit crazy, and the ending made me wanna die 😄
but at least we get nighteyes and more kettricken!!
