This was a very different story that I enjoyed reading, even though it was YA. I think some that enjoys YA would have given a better rating. It had pirates, magic, machines, and adventure.

Fast read, easy to get through the twists, making this over all a fun thriller.

The first book was a wonderful take on a new fairy land but the story line peters out by the time this books story unfolds.

Gilded Needles and The Amulet both have pretty extensive setting building. I can see why Steven King is a fan of his work.

This story lead me down a road of overwhelming melancholy throughout its entirety. It you are looking to read a LGBTQ slightly “witchy” take then this is a good one for you. I on the other hand found the main character to be slightly neurotic living precariously on the verge of pretentiousness. I really just wanted the story to end and was not a fan of the non linear plot.

A woman decent into madness, mirroring the struggle that woman face with post-Partum depression.

Slow start. Fingers crossed it gets better.

Short stories that all center around a Twilight Zone type small country town. There is a mediocrity to the lives of the townsfolk that gets peppered in with strange supernatural occurrences that happen to the younger towns member that find themselves in Autumcrow, Ohio.
