I love Henry Hill I really do but I’m glad there’s features of his that abhor me so I don’t have to live through a book obsession. I love his calmness, I love his demeanor, “esnafla arasının iyi olması”, his sort of recklessness but also knowing what he’s doing, being quick thinking, all of that. He loves Karen but then you have him doing the Friday night girlfriend and hooker, Saturday wife night bs.

the part where milady was playing her game on felton was too long personally

i like that this stretch dives more into the lackeys and shows a more intimate connection w them and their masters. it’s a pretty nice brotherhood

for how much I dislike the cardinal, he is a noble man and is most elegant in how he threatens people. him threatening d’artagnan after not joining his guards was beautiful. pretty inspired might use when threatening others

dartagnan pretended to be count de wardes, he told this to the milady she tried killing him rightfully. lowkey hate men more and more. favorite part of the book.

turns out i was reading a pdf that had cut out. anyways after they go out to discover the studs he gets all his friends back on the way. this milady is a bitch

so far d’artagnan has shown to just be a young brave man, athos porthos aramis and him take on little adventures until 50% of the book, then d’artagnan gets involved with madame bonancieux and gets involved with the queens affairs with the duke of buckingham. cardinal is a sneaky repulsive man. braindumping here j bc i took a many month gap when reading the book and don’t want to forget the beginning

book 6 was so beautiful my ranking is now 1,6,3. book 5 wasn’t really that integral to the plot but obviously it serves a purpose. was nice. appola’m

part 1 was wonderful, on the makings of the corleone family. part 2 was about johnny and his love life and its connection to nino and the corleone’s. would’ve been fine without that part. part 3 was equally wonderful, it was about how the don became the don. it held valuable lessons on leadership as well. part 4 is a mix of side character stories, also a nice section. part 1 remains the most enthralling yet.

i’m just sad at the prospect that the book will end and i will be left without it in the world they built up. heavily convincing to enter some ties atp

i love it so far. mario puzo’s writing style easily can appeal to all. his descriptions of the don are so vivid it makes you feel like you’re already watching the movie. similarly, his descriptions of eye movement and bodily gestures are so fluent that the actors should not have had a hard time imagining what was wanted of them.

so far it’s just a man admitting he’s never touched a woman before lmao i really like his descriptions of what a dreamer is though

obsessive
