DNF for now. Bummed because it started off so great. Hope to power through it sometime this winter:)

Literally perfect. Autumnal without being overly Halloweenish. Setting is coastal, so easily could read as a late summer novel. Heightens your senses, makes you laugh and feel all the feels. Light discussion of grief and new starts, but doesn’t read heavy. Wouldn’t even say it needs a trigger warning.
My reviews are never very proper or well written.. I’m just going to say.. it’s really awesome!

Just my kind of wild ride in a YA novel. Excellent so far. Main character is so hard not to love!

Loving it. Such a different vibe from anything I’ve ever read. Really does feel like “Once Upon a Time meets the Office.” Except .. I hate the Office, lol I know, but this story is so far chefs kiss!

It’s kind of dark so far. This series came so highly rated to me. Disappointed so far, but will definitely read at least Book 1&2 of the series before deciding to keep going or not

Did not finish :/ Started off with so much promise. But ughh. Might pick up later this summer just to see how it ends

This book wrecked me. Deeply related to more than just 1-2 characters. The setting, the ideas and discussions of time, of grief, of time through grief, of pain and adventure, of adventure and love despite pain, were all close to perfect. Poston exceeded all my expectations. I needed this book more than I can express. 💜

Mesmerizing. Thoroughly enjoying this series- even more excited for sequel. Heard the 2nd is the best 💜🎠🎢

Just so awesome. Her writing is captivating. This world of Faerie enchants you- you laugh, cry, cheer, love some characters, even morally grey ones. You despise the power hungry, evil ones.. and yet the plot encourages you to think deeply about our own humanity and ability to feel and create our own magic. I am sad I’m almost at the end of the series!

So I’m in mad love with this series and her writing. It’s everything I needed. 💜 Incredible weaving of fae and human morality (or lack thereof), of how choices we make determine our fate, even when all seems lost, and that understanding those we love- and those we are unsure about- is the trickiest task of all. Elfhame continues to seduce me. Cannot wait to read the rest of Folk of the Air!

I’m just seriously so in love with this book. With Elfhame, with the Fae, with Jude and Cardan, with it all. I am in awe of Hollys writing and wish I’d discovered her many novels and series sooner!

Love it more than I expected. Black indulges you in the world of Elfhame, and I think plot keeps you on your toes. I don’t relate to the critics at all!
I love the bond between Vivi and Jude, and the morally grey characters and surprises throughout the story. Can’t wait to read more of her novels and to finish this one!

But unremarkable and odd plot. She’s got a knack for thrillers, yes. Just not my cup of tea. Characters were bizarre and scary for sure though!

Unimpressed. She’s not a “bad” author. Just far from what I consider a good book. The only character I like or admire is the dog. And I’m not a harsh critic. The characters are all morally grey- but the darkest grey imaginable. Peculiar writer. Peculiar mind. But .. good for her that she has such a fan base.
I’ve read worse. But I’ve also read mysteries/thrillers FAR better, with deep, lovable, complex characters.

Seriously love it. Outshining my expectations! More to comment soon:)

I don’t love any of the characters yet. Mixed feelings. Setting is entrancing though. Still have awhile to go
