Good so far, manuscript part was fascinating and now author is kind of going through the building of terrorist groups taking hold in Mali in like 2003. Think it’s building to how our hero will need to evacuate his manuscript collection.

I think the author is typically a long form journalist and this would benefit from some pictures and graphics (maps, family trees) so I can keep up. It’s a thinker

Loan expired from library, will probably put on hold again. Not sure what the plot is going to be yet but he is a witty gentleman and it’s enjoyable if a bit slow

I haven’t read TJ Klume since Under the Whispering Door last year, I forgot how witty he is and how fun his worlds are. Also I love these covers - reading on kindle from the library but they make me want to collect the set

I’m liking this book, it was a bit slow to get into with the perspectives flipping most chapters but it’s nicely written I think the ending will be good

the content is interesting but too much movie/film analysis for me. I could not have survived as English major
