Halfway through this one and it’s making last Days of Socrates look like the Gruffalo.

Dense political theory + no chapters + philosophical tangents + a single stream of dialogue is making this difficult. Looking forward to reading some secondary criticism to try and wrap my head around it.

Such a shift at the halfway mark, the first half has been an ode to The Odyssey, now we’re back where we started with the second half calling on the Iliad.

Enjoyed the descent into Hades. Would be interesting to compare it to the same journey from Dante’s Inferno, who took Virgil as his guide.
