I like the original version of this (without the later additions made to flesh out the connection to the "lensman" books.) Project Gutenberg offers a version with classic illustrations and other matter from the original "Astounding Stories" printing.

Otis Adelbert Kline and co-author E. Hoffman Price do a space opera reminiscent of Doc Smith(!) So far, pretty enjoyable.

An alternate title is "Lucky Starr and the Oceans of Venus". A good old-fashioned Isaac Asimov story....much better than the Foundation-Robots mishmash of the 80s and later. I want to read more of Lucky Starr.

Polaris spends a lot of time wandering a frozen wilderness, which describes some of my recent experiences. I thought I might warn potential readers that the download of this available at project Gutenberg (and manybooks) is not complete, and I had to turn elsewhere to obtain a complete copy.

Jonathan Stevens is 50% done with Creep, Shadow! (Burn Witch Burn#2)
Good fantasy by Merrit- turns out to be a sequel, of sorts, to 'Burn, Witch, Burn' and contains teases and/or spoilers. The villain has also dropped a reference to Khalkru from 'The Dwellers In the Mirage' This one has evil witches from ancient civilizations.
