End of Part 1

I’ve had a spate of DNF’s so I’m coming back to Old Reliable.

None of the excitement of the first book. Finding it quite repetitive at this point.

She starts to remember, he tries to hide the truth, whatshername gives him a blowie. Cut to afar realm and whatever’s going on there. On repeat.

Everything starts with this apple….

This book better have a spectacular finale… so far it’s just a bunch of old dudes getting killed off. It’s not horror, it’s not a slasher, it’s just a murder mystery but with no clues.

Barring one gorey scene this is very Thursday Murder Club so far… I was promised horror!

I’ve got book 3 on the way this week so I should probably get going with book 1….

I do struggle with SGJ’s stream-of-consciousness writing style, but I’ve heard such good things about his stories so I’m persevering (and i in really want to try and enjoy Buffalo hunter)

I know it’s been a while since the original trilogy, so readers need reminding of some key facts, but this feels like it’s rehashing a lot of old material.
Nothing new is happening and it definitely doesn’t have the pace of the first books

I’m all for a short chapter, but the frequent changing between pov makes for a choppy narrative
