I am struggling with this one. So repetitive — I get it, the Monahan family is bad. Just grey and dull, like Ardnakelty itself. Looking forward to learning more about Lena, but so far it’s a slog.

Did not expect so much sexual assault

A darker, duller slog of a version of the last two books. Like a grey wet day in Ardnakelty, all the color and charm have been drained out of the town, the people, the story. So repetitive, the editor did not do their job here. We get the dynamics of the village, let’s not repeat it ad-nauseam. I would never deign to DNF the queen Tana French, but maybe… Let’s hope it turns it around like The Searcher.
