Best living writer. Period.

Oh, hey, this is really good. I guess those Pulitzer people are pretty on.

Giving this one another shot since it's my favorite author and all. Still pretty weird.

I'm not, like, INTO South Beach or anything, never fear. It's just one of the lower-carb plans and I am addicted to the library.

How is it that I've never read Richard Russo? I've heard the name many times. This one won the Pullitzer... I can see why...

Found in the little free library box. Wouldn't say I'm thrilled with the quality of the sentences, but always happy to read a book set on the Cape :)

Long held as "the worst book I've ever read," 18 years later I am giving this another chance since my son is reading it in school. It's not as bad as I remembered; the writing is good and occasionally quite funny.

halfway through this book of essays, which i've put down for a moment but it started to give me HOPE in an impossibly-stacked-odds capitalist world. just a little bit of hope. thank you, nelson mandela et al.

During the first 25 pages of this, I giggled so much that a man got up and moved away from me on the bus. True story.

this is the one available to take out of the library... will be verifying everything with the 2013 i ordered. what is UP with the terrible typos? ugh.

this is the problem with getting your reference books at the library... this was published in 2000 and includes such gems as "utilized a computer daily" as a suggestion to include on a resume. you'd get laughed out of the room.

this book makes me panic. no kidding. i hope it's for 22-year-olds. video resume? seriously?

hmm, i missed that this was in 'christian living' but i suppose all of the bible stuff can apply to just being a good PERSON, too. happy to see some christians realize you can't really be christian without giving a shit about the planet. *cough* mitt *cough*

oh lord. Opens with "the major tenant of accounting is..."

...and thus i lose ALL respect for this series and do not read this book.

Ordered this at my local bookstore-- it's by my professor! Terrific so far...
