this book is wonderful. It is about childhood trauma (the narrators) and about the funny life of "death work" (which as a funeral director's daughter I appreciate) and which she takes up to heal from her deeply felt grief and her lifelong abandonment-- wow-- and only halfway through-- might be my favorite novel this year.

Although I am only on page 40 I can already tell I will give this book less than a 2 star rating. It is in dire need of a good editor— having in these first 40 pages broken every rule of good writing. I’d hoped to find a compelling (possibly funny) modern take on critical feminist issues. This book is not that.
