Oof.... this book is so confusing. At times, I live what he's saying. At other times, I'm rolling my eyes. It's like reading a grown man's diary. The writing is rough, but I admire the strength to talk about mental health.

It's like a Rollercoaster of predictable and not. I do enjoy the multi-point perspective. A psychological thriller for sure, even though it's predictable in some spots.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this. I like the mixed personal narrative with information, but it's incredibly repetitive. It feels like a conversation, which is nice versus all the technical jargon.

It's beginning to be incredibly repetitive. I'm gonna need this story to progress...

I'm barely into this book, and it's a difficult read. I wish the author would release two versions: the one with technical, scientific jargon and one that is easier to read. I understand the purpose of providing all the backgrounds, but sometimes, it gets all jumbled up while reading. I end up zoning out, trying to focus on what's being said (irony). He does a good job making connections, though.

I love Bryce's sass. It shows a lot in this book. One of my favorite lines from her is, "If you're looking for How Not to Be an A**hole, it's shelved between Bye, Loser and Get the F*** Out."

I don't get the appeal of this book. It started great. But now I'm on the part where the woman is reading through Verity's manuscript of her autobiography. There's so much sex. I don't understand why author's can't write a book without needing all the sex writing. You can write a good book without being completely trashy.

Ugh I'm trying to stay engaged in it. But the whole first chapter and beginning of chapter 2 is all about them. How they were burnt out. How they were overwhelmed. How they quit. No offense, but I don't care. I got this book for ideas and to better myself for students. Yes, I can relate. If I couldn't, then I wouldn't have bought the book. I don't need 28 pages to tell me you're tired. Get to the point.

I know this book is incredibly popular and has very high reviews. Partially for that reason, I chose to read this book. It was okay in the beginning. I was expecting something different. I'm a little over 50% of the way through the book, and I'm grossed out, disturbed, and confused. I'm not seeing how this is such a popular book. It's not terrible, but it definitely isn't my cup of tea.
