Satisfied with the ending. Learned so much about Iranian history and culture from Marji Satrapi. Made me appreciate the civil liberties I enjoy in this day and age. Two thumbs up.

Marji Satrapi after visiting her friend Kia who lost an arm and a leg fighting during a war in Iran: "We can only feel sorry for ourselves when our misfortunes are still supportable... once this limit is crossed, the only way to bear the unbearable is to laugh at it."

Chapter 17. Still haven't decided if this is inspiring or depressing. Definitely an eye-opener to the atrocities of war in Iran.

In UK, half the population of inmates have the reading comprehension of an 11-year old. In US, the business-minded use the percentage illiteracy of 10 to 11-year olds in forecasting the volume of correctional facilities to build.

So much better than its tv series which by its 3rd episode skipped a trip to Brakebills South in Antartica.

Intro reminds me a lot of required Philo readings back in my undergrad years at Ateneo; casually peppered with ideas from historical greats such as Doestoevsky, St. Ignatius of Loyola, Freud and Marx to name a few. First impression: content feels more philosophical chop suey than psych. Some of the stats presented remind me of Freakonomics. Looking forward to how the author will further develop his ideas.

Interested in studying Ruby because of the progress the protagonist has made with a 3D-rendered model of Mr. Penumbra's bookstore.

Reading while waiting for my sister's dental surgery to complete. Excited and sad I'm almost done. Will miss the fictional townsfolk of Pirriwee peninsula.

Read the first few pages while in a bus, stuck in traffic. Found myself devouring chapter after chapter. Looking forward to resuming poring over this book after work.
