Not the worst. Random relationship formed that I could care less about, and a decent amount of writer's conveniences, but haven't stopped reading yet, so that's something?

No I did not pick this up because of Taylor Swift. I literally just learned about that today.

So far the book is pure CHEESE. If 007 was a terrible daytime soap with a wash-rinse-repeat plot and characters with two dimensional personalities and dialogue, you have this book. Not to the point of DNFing yet but so far...I have a headache from all the eyerolls.

No don't send a dragon to save a falling girl whose gryphon can't fly after her and when you were all sent on the most pointless trek of all time for a "bonding" experience and get one of your strongest riders shot. Nice logic.

What is the point of this stupid chapter?! Are we done yet?!

I wish Rebecca made the Griphon fliers stronger. Like they're the only ones that can put a dragon rider in their place, especially since they're mortal enemies. Someone humble these buckets. She basically god-modded these dragon riders to the point where there honestly shouldn't even be a war.

This book is getting a little dense, I have to admit. I'm having a harder time staying focused with this one--it almost seems like there's TOO much and it's not even based on world-building or character development as much as just little meandering. Also Violet getting cocky is driving me a little nuts, especially when she still admits her flaws.

I feel like I'm being tossed around, and in a frustrating way. Characters that fell out of the picture are back in and I'm still trying to insert their role in this. Also, don't give us a dog if you're going to kill it. Have you learned nothing from John Wick??

So far...pretty rough. This story is starting to get a bit too piecemeal.

This book started out strong and now it's losing a bit of steam for me. Also I cannot properly express how much I hate Ivan. Holy crap do I hate That man.

Kermit is "green as the grass." And, oh, look! It's Oscar!

George. For real, man? Lord Grover, Lord Elmo, and Lord Kermit? *sigh with eyeroll*

I'm having a ton of issues with this book right now. First, I just read a really illogical fight scene. Second, this books is YA but would be so much better for adults. It would be more logical and the author could pull off a lot of her ideas better. Plus ancient gods in high school? Come on, really??

This book is driving me insane in the worst way. Could care less about the characters, the words etched in glass were loquacious and a bit too mundane to be receiving such nonsense panic about it, and it's trudging through the supposed build up. The synopsis was enough to turn me off, but I've been told to hold on and be patient. I'm trying hard to follow this advice...

I am trying SO HARD to like this, but I just can't find myself CARING about these people. The first character is so loose that when the story focuses on the second character after his death, I'm almost cringing when she meets a guy like I'm just going to see more sexual exploits and less character development in any other way. I'm ready to give up on this book.

Veronica Roth's writing drives me insane, and in an unfortunate way. It's...bland, almost formulaic. There's nothing that really gives it life. Instead it's very much like many authors I've read before and on top of that her characters, except Sloane, just seem so shallow, like they need more fleshing out. I could care less about these people.

Hope this improves.

Boris is the best character in this entire book. I'm absolutely obsessed with him!
