If I find myself checking Goodreads reviews before I’m done with a book, usually it’s to help me find people in the comments who can accurately describe why I’m not enjoying the book and unfortunately that seems to be the case here….

Picked it up again… After dipping my toe into the world of romance novels with bridgerton I can now appreciate this little romance for what it is. Plus I really love pirates so it’s fun to imagine the different character in this mangy crew! We’ll see how it goes…

I really like these short little witchy stories, each one is unique and all of them are perfect for fall vibes 🍂🖤

The first short story was about a Cyclopes navigating the current world of online dating. A quirky little story. This is my first toe dip into surreal type of stories I’m excited to continue.

I like this book so far. It’s pulled me in and it’s even had some pretty creepy scenes.

DNFing at 41%

Since it’s officially spooky season 👻 🎃 I really want to get into some darker fiction and my goal is to finallyyy read some classic horrors. This fall I’m aiming to read Frankenstein, Dracula, & Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, then maybe some Poe from there.

So much info dumping it’s hard to follow not to mention it seems extremely slow to follow anyway bc of the stiff dialogue, lack of character development, and lack of action to propel the plot forward. It’s ALOT of info dumping and description to the point of becoming mentally exhausting to read and keep track of. Might DNF soon bc I like reading to be fun not feel like a chore
