James Bond is of course known for misogyny. But this one is by far the most egregious. For some reason, with no addition, help, or reason within a story he creates a Lesbian mob, rambles about how, wrong it is, then justifies it by suggesting she os only lesbian because her Uncle abuse her as a child. Reading the story it is so out of place and jarring. The rest of the novel is classic Bond though.

I met Mark Thomas at a local book fair. He is an interesting character and a very talented painter, I recommend checking out his work.

Fun read so far, but Crichton keeps interrupting himself as the narrator and it's starting to piss me off. He'll be doing some explain of a science topic and when he runs out of substance will finish the paragraph with ", and -", having another character cut off the monologue. It just happens to much for my liking; comes off as annoying.

I sometimes find poetry difficult to read because my high school English education nags me in the background, making me doubt and inferences or ideas I presume from reading poetry.

A dictionary of attitudes, beliefs, and biases - for benefit and for naught. There are some interesting points here, and a lot of food for thought. My only real hangup is the tone sometimes comes off as condescending and presumptuous. Hard to appreciate some of the info when it feels like the author is riding his own dick the whole time.
