Nothing too crazy has happened but I’m absolutely loving it so far still, Sarah Waters is the goat

Starting this one over because I don’t remember much from the beginning lol

Will probably finish this sometime in the day, not ready at all 😭

Been busy lately so haven’t had time to read but I’m back at it and now have less than 200 pages left 💪

50% done and still going strong 💪

A little over half way done with the book and the writing is starting to grate on me 😭 I feel like everything is over explained like the author doesn’t trust us at all, I’m gonna finish it because I’m still curious on how it’s going to end but sadly not enjoying it as much as I was at the beginning

Alright over 30% in and things have started to falter just a little, felt like things went from 0 to 100 way too quickly to feel believable and the cause of Miki’s scars felt a little forced but I’m curious to see where things go, I don’t expect master level prose or writing when reading these kind of books so I’m willing to excuse some of the weak writing

Clocked Allie being a lesbian so early in the book that the reveal wasn’t too much of a surprise lmao

Off to a strong start, I’m stil a little apprehensive just because extreme gore isn’t my favorite type of horror but I’m sucker for Japanese urban legends and the slit mouth woman is one of my favorites

Got to part 2 and whew boy is it still going strong, if I had read this last year it would have easily been one of the best books I had read of the year

Still not hating this, it’s not amazing and I’d still prefer to play the game but it’s fun in its own way and the characters has slightly more depth (still not much lol) that it makes for a good companion piece to the game

Unironically one of my favorite parts of this book has been Burke and Marjorie’s marriage and how they were able to overcome their problems, felt very mature and natural

Super gripping and addicting
