Biggest miss with the audio book is him reading her singing

Incredible character development. It’s like watching anakin become darth Vader through his pov. Still don’t understand where it all goes south but there are lots of little bread crumbs in his thought process that show he’s in survival mode willing to do whatever to keep up appearances and get out of poverty.

Idk why this stood out to me so much but it makes me think how much of ourselves is actually us and how much is what we’ve been told we are. Would snape have been a different person if he was in gryffindor? Probably.

Good premise but the characters are so cliche and insufferable. The FMC reminds me of the TikTok videos of “every female character in a movie”. It’s tough to buy into a semi realistic book when the situations are so unrealistic
