Cringe. Why did the characters say that?

If it really were cardiac arrest (which it’s obviously not proven otherwise it wouldn’t be murder, so this plot hole makes no sense) then at worst, he would be charged with manslaughter. Cardiac arrest can arise from high stress, which the dude intentionally did. Breaking the ribs, albeit “accidental”, is also manslaughter. I’m starting to believe Neal thinks that accidental abuse is legal and/or innocent.

The anti-straight romance reviews are stupidly sad. People throw eggshells for even the most obedient to walk on.

The title is such a spoiler. Just why?

Okay, now it’s just funny how A is doing way more damage and abuse than her fiancé ever would in the future. First the knife, then destroying her phone. Now, bashing her skull to knock her out, really? I already know the reason is that she wants to make sure she doesn’t leave (irony), but omg. It turns out that she was the real abuser all along. Not the intention of the story, of course(?), but what irony.

At least the rest of the story is making somewhat sense.

From what I can tell, it seems as if the relationship was great before. Then the old lady made her get paranoid, hostile, now thinking that innocuous things were bad, worsening the idea of them she only had in her head. Over that week she got defensive, not as loving or playful, and then hostile. Only then did he do something, and it wasn’t even to her, and it was better than what she did. Relationship crasher 101.

So the old lady implanted a seed of major doubt in the MC that she now is fearful of her fiancé because he mentioned that his parents wanted to invite their friend to the wedding. Is this supposed to be abusive and fearful from that info alone? What? What???

She too would be pissed at her fiancé for allowing someone with a knife to barge into the home… One of the worst ways to write the onlooker being bad.

Too much internet lingo. At least the CEO is a morally grey character. The woman however seems to just be toxic and verbally violent. If that was a male character he’d be considered toxic, so why when it’s a female character she’s considered a “queen” and more positives that make her narcissistic behaviour untouchable? This is toxic teaching for female readers if it goes to their heads.

Ironically, *certain* people are literally organ harvesting children in real life.

How many lesbian couplings are there in this part? Ten? It sure feels like it. This is more of a smutty fan fiction than a vampire story where because of the hundred new relationships it felt cheap. Where’d the vampire story even go?! That got brushed to the sidelines and now it seems to have vanished. The vampire story is getting boring, which is a shame because part 1 had a good plot and now it’s cheesy.

Despite it being YA, it is very well-written and the world building so far has a good depth to it. It is partially an environmental crisis plot, but it’s not patronising.
