I have to be honest, this book is good enough except the pacing weighs it down terribly.

So many contrivances. I’ll continue to look past them.

The author’s attempts at florid descriptions and metaphors are quite clunky and distracting. It’s somehow rendering wooden characters which annoys me because they have so much inherent promise.
