Bethany Kortekaas is starting Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike
So eye opening how we make assumptions about different things. I was not expecting to appreciate this book so much. Loved how the author celebrated those around him.

I loved this book. I can’t believe it was based on a true story. It was written so well and was so thoughtful with a persons life journey without being depressing even through the really hard stuff. And yet still deep and true.

Shield of sparrows was on par with Fourth Wing if you feel like reading a good story where you’ll need to wait a year til the next one.

I think after first reading the Explorer and then this book, I might read everything this author writes. It is MAGIC and adventure and unexpected well written tough love. Good reading for young readers and my favorite type of book.

I’m so glad I read this book. I have had little education about Palestine and the why if the conflict. This was really helpful and yet beautifully written in story form.

Bethany Kortekaas is starting Tehanu (Earthsea Cycle, #4)
Honestly, I don’t think I understood the power/hold of these books until this one. as an author, she can write about deep things with small details. She writes deep truth of soul in fantasy. this particular book was hard because of the treatment of a child by men without being descriptive but it was still hard to deal with the emotional aftermath. But the takeaways were powerful.
