6 hours in, and I've never been so amazed at how one man can verbally skewer the entire Roman system or so thankful that I recently listened to a tome on ancient history

It's books like these that remind me that I'm still a student and not a master.

An interesting read so far, with some insightful moments and strong characterization. However, I can't help but notice that the theology of Reverend John Aims, while circling grace and forgiveness, forgets that these things flow from the person and work of Christ. It feels like a Christianity that its missing its own heart. Perhaps I'm missing something as I listen.
