Oppenheimer’s legacy (and tragedy) can still be seen in Einstein’s life. American Prometheus is my favorite book, but so far with the way this is written Subtle is the Lord is a strong contender. It also helps that Pais personally knew Einstein so he would include sections about his conversations with him in stanford.

I may be biased bc my research interest is in quantum grav but i think The Trouble with Physics may possibly be the best science/sociology book iv read this year. It's fucking brilliant.
