promising start

started reading this bc i have nothing else downloaded on the plane. don’t love it so far

couldn’t have connected any less with any of the characters. did enjoy the witty commentary on london’s social and political landscape though.

this was a very bravely-written memoir , and it would have taken a lot of courage for al-marashi to be so candid and raw. i have nothing but respect for that. however, i have not come away from this novel believing for even a second that she likes her husband, let alone loves him.

mc is so incredibly boring

With the new movie coming out in November and the resurgence of THG’s popularity, it only makes sense to regress into being 12 years old again and re-read and re-watch and re-obsess all over again!!

a rare dnf, giving up on this as it put me in the worst reading slump i’ve ever been in

reading this book is motivating me to get through The Idiot which is motivating me to get through M Train

this might be the most boring rotation of books i’ve ever been reading

i’m trying really hard to like this book but so far it’s been a boring 60 pages, i am determined to finish it though!!

I’m not jiving too hard with the writing style at the moment, but there must be a reason it was long-listed for the International Booker Prize this year, so I’m willing to see it through😂
