At this point the over use of figurative language is a bit obnoxious and jarring at times. Almost every single paragraph... The meaning and energy is lost when you use it to describe everything from the way a hat sits to how a dead person hangs from a noose.

Is structured and feels like a textbook in the best of ways.

I think theres a lot this book can offer the reader with messages and insight. That said, this leads to many situations and ideas being heavily disected and over explained, killing nuance, making the character feel whiny a drag to get through
