If you wanna read a precursor to Clay McLeod Chapman's "Wake Up and Open Your Eyes," it's in the form of a short story called "The Spew of News." I don't think I've seen this before where a story in an anthology blooms into a full length novel a few years later. I haven't read the novel (no intention to even before the short story), but I think this plot works better in short-form imo.

It was so hard to put this down, but it was nearing 3 AM and unfortunately, I don't think my workplace would accept "the book was too good" as sick leave.

Last few books I've read have been solid Okays, but I'm itching for a banger.

Please, Train Book, help me

I was initially going to re-read this one physically, but I needed to read while doing other things. I started the audiobook, and oh my lord, the narrator Frankie Corzo is excellent so far. I think I need to stick with the audiobook.

Not quite done with this, but I'm gonna be preemptive and say this is a 5/5. Read this.

Really wish I stuck to my original schedule to read this in October/November, it's got those autumnal vibes that woulda been *chef's kiss* in autumn before snow.

I'm so close to finishing this bad boy. I started it back in September for my book club, and it went on hiatus during October and November. It's been really good so far, but I'm ready to feel guilt-free when reading other things.
