Did not finish.

Slow going. I dip in and out.

An easy read. Impressed by concision.

Am still just getting into the tale, characters and scenarios being set up. But am staying with it. Well written.

About half way. Sub-Kafka, but a laugh a page; or at the very least a shared smirk. Have to confess I'm skipping some of the longer fantastical tales.

Just got beyond the first 70 pages and am a bit upset that this is the first book of hers I've read. What a brilliant writer.

I've been meaning to read this for years. When Christopher Milne was living in Dartmouth he became my literary agent for a while. The book of mine that he took on, Constant Change, had a character living on the Dart estuary. Like many literary endeavours our collaboration came to nought, probably because it was at that time that Christopher decided to move back to Sussex. My affection for him lingers on though.

Attitudes very 1950s but worth reading for the startling similes.

Remarkably apposite given the present concerns with post-traumatic stress disorders. Wordy, of its time, but thoroughly enjoyable.
