I hate it when people have zero interests and hobbies, and then get pissed when others do. I thought Sarah was too into Win’s business with book 1. Oh it is much worse with this one. I like the premise but ew on writing a female character well.

Sobbing for real because why do we choose to and decide to erase ourselves? The characters (so far) are kind and themselves. 24% in, I wish they stay like that. I know something is about to go down, keeping people apart till the very end. I am hoping their kindness stays as is.

I wanted nerdy references. I am getting she gusped a gasp and gripped his hand and so he gasped as well giving us some gaspational gas. They both have literature doctorates. WHERE IS THE NERDINESS?

How can one claim to love while leading with contention? Enemies to lovers is such an optimistic trope. If one were to think like a romantic, it is people hoping for the best possible outcome in a world where everyone is out for themselves.

I have a WTF-is-going-on face. Being in someone's head is not a nice feeling.

The predictability of this works so well with it being a spoof.

The words Nether Regions as a region on the map is telling me the book is going to target all the dude-bro-ness we see in epic fantasies.

The observations and the sentences are beautiful. The characters are not arcing at all. I’m losing hope because the book is almost done.

It feels like this is written about someone. The context of the someone is missing. There’s 700+ pages and there’s something missing.

I am enjoying it now because I have to complete this book. I will enjoy it. ~makes threatening gestures~

Is it the John Wick BY or is it the mythological one? I’m hoping for a good payoff.

You can tell the author doesn't live in India. NRI authors can choose to look beyond the cinematic representations of India and one's Indian-ness and they repeatedly choose to not do that. The book is pissing me off.

I am seeing Encanto... inherited cruelty born out of that survival mindset where utility is the only thing that matters...seem nice instead of be nice. I cannot wait to see the core relationship blow up and hopefully find a way to repair itself.

The endling is such a unique metaphor....
and the author breaking the fourth wall repeatedly is just wow.

This book is soooo getting shortlisted. There’s this description about a hole punched into a building via a missile. Numbness is the understatement to describe the impact of this scene… which only has the evidence of violence.

I don’t think I am going to like this book.
Maybe spoiler: FMC’s brother raised her and the MMC helped. He was there when she was a child and I know they are endgame. It is extremely ew.

This book is like a snack for the brain and the heart.

I don't like it when that hole in our souls gets romanticized. I am hoping the story gets better (but I don't see that happening cause: refer first line).

The influencers are, how do I put it... extremely influencer-y?
