Honestly I’m just confused. The writing is good, plot seems well laid out, I’m super intrigued. But I’ve not been given enough info on their world, customs, or beliefs to understand WTF is going on or what all the in between the lines talk means. It’s getting frustrating and worse.

This is.. So dumb.The attempt at being incredibly edgy while being in college basketball & pulling high school pranks?Literally what am I reading. It feels like the bad boys in high school who think they’re the coolest shit ever and then you grow up and realize they’re hella dumb. I’m all for dark romance but what IS THIS. If this was my introduction to Penelope Douglas i wouldn’t read anything else by her.

DNF. Good potential bad writing, once the smut started the plot left the chat.

DNF. Where’s the story? The heat? Eesh. Their chemistry died along with the FMC. It’s all about how fragile she is and he’s not sharing anything with her and all she can think about is how much she loves him & how helpless she is. Like this is BOOK 3. And we don’t have a SINGLE INKLING OF AN ANSWER ON HER POWERS?! And she’s NOT EVEN CURIOUS. It’s killing me.

DNF after he crawled into bed with her after she explicitly told him not to, she woke up half naked and got pissed with him for it. He got mad at her for being mad, left her alone, and then she self degraded and implied she shouldn’t have been upset at all. PASS.
This is after he attacked and almost raped her while she was in the shower, and she forgave him. Yeesh.

I didn’t realize you could spit so many sentences back to back. Homegirl needs to learn to say things *normally*
