I def think I’m a fan of Dostoyevsky’s works, and this is pretty good 2. It’s excessively long & I don’t think I have the time to dedicate to it all, but I love the character’s set up and their interactions. Also the descriptions of the scenes r soo good; the monastery might b one of my fav book descriptions ever. anyways we’ll c when I decide to keep reading, but it’s good!

pretty good so far, but not what I was expecting. It’s written like how Madam Bovary’s Ovaries SHOULD have been, and it’s done really well. There r a lot of references that I can’t catch on to, but most of them r necessary foreshadowing. I decided to annotate the book cause there’s sm to it even though it’s so short. I wish there was a little more story than rambling, but I get it at the same time.

disappointed asf so far. Wanted an insightful perspective from people actually knowledgeable in biology to make connections on how literature through history has certain connections through the human mind. INSTEAD u get these literature like Othello being watered down to prehistoric cavemen thinking. Actually ridiculous that the authors preach context n complexity, yet they include none of that on their analysis.
