Okay, one thing that saves this book is that Buffalo Bill is described as not a real "transsexual" (the term used for transgender people in the 90s). Thank goodness they say that.

I am trying to provide updates now as I read books since I am so bad at succinct reviews. Maybe updates can help with composing the final review.

Luckily, this is a book I am enjoying quite a bit! I wanted a book about animals and I don’t think I could have picked a better one! These little stories that Herriot tells make me smile, laugh, and genuinely feel grateful for my dog and cat having good health.
