I don’t really believe he went from all that success to being completely alone, living in a van with nothing but his trusty dog. The smell test is just not panning out. He must have done something to piss off everyone in his former life, EVERYONE?! Way too unbelievable. Sounds too much like he just all of a sudden became a victim. I have to relegate this to CNF at 25% read.

Could not finish

At 30% the author had made his annoyingly exaggerated point…Ove was an asshole. I couldn’t finish this book. The contrivance was smacking me too hard

Hated this pathetic story of obsession and meanness.

I can’t stand this book. An obsession of one female besotted with another female who is spiteful and ugly throughout their lives just seems pathetic. Couldn’t finish book two.

I love it

The movie version of this painfully slow book came on tv so I cheated the last half and didn't finish the book after watching it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone based on the story or the writing.

I really like it because it's about a place and time that is part of my city's history, and even a part of my family history
