Susan is finished with The Sholes Key (An Evans and Blackwell Mystery #1)
Riveting and multi-layered, it had me flipping pages from the very start.

Can one call a murder mystery charming? Perhaps not; but the detective inspector was.

Skip the Borico character and the gross, vomit inducing prison gang language disappears. It's either that or I stop reading and the rest of the characters make me want to continue.

I could do with some moderation of the graphic parts of this. But the suspense is a killer.

Can Society come back to a lawless continent of beings most often thought of as savages? Even more than that, can these savages be the vehicle by which society is rebuilt?

Blood and guts anyone? Apparently we're beyond the point where description can be limited in writing about the ugliest part of a lawless land.

Now comes the point when I need a whiteboard and some colored wipe-off markers, as the parts played by the terrorist Palisinian brothers acting for Libya and the nogoodnick American brothers acting for money are explained to the folks in DC. Some of it is very clear but it's also complex and my brain cells hurt.

Hard to read, not because of the writing but because of the subject matter. What a grim woman. To think that she is spoken of in hushed reverent tones by many even though her view of human life, indeed even humanity, was so negative.

Fascinating at every turn and in multiple locations, with variety of action in each. Not a boring minute at any stage of the reading!

Fascinating! And far from a "simple" presidential assassination followed by FBI investigating. This has heart AND teeth plus it's keeping me on the edge of my chair.

Excellent job informing the reader about prior events, as necessitated by the story line, even if they did not read earlier books. Kudos.
