I’m not sure if this is going to be good, but as someone who grew up poor and used fantasy books from the library to escape reality, it sure is going to make me cry.

78% in one day. We’re so back.

We made it past 20% so I think we’re taking this fever dream where it wants to go. Choo choo

Whimsical and metaphysical. What a mix

Kind of concerned this book is a little TOO formulaic. I’m seeing some really heavy handed influences of other popular fantasy novels, which makes this feel like a Frankenstein of books I’ve already read… but with bird code names. Going to give it until 20% to make a decision.

Throughly enjoying this. Heather Fawcett writes my fav FMCs. 35, loves cats, compulsive list maker?! Say less.

Starting one of my most anticipated reads for the year!

Rereading before starting the next book. Made it an hour into it before I realized I didn’t remember most of the secondary characters.

I can feel my attention span returning. Just needed a good fantasy book full of political machinations, courtly intrigue, and well thought out plot twists 👏🏼

Come to find out, “Howl’s Moving Castle meets the Witcher” is exactly what I need. Vibing hard with this book so far.

Me: ok the story is intriguing, even if a little insta lusty. The first two days are setting up an interesting plot.

Hmm. I like Kemmerer’s plots, but one reason I haven’t read more of her works is because she writes mostly YA. This book is supposed to be her “debut adult novel”, and the FMC is a virgin. Which, not to say that adults can’t or shouldn’t be virgins, but when I pick up a book labeled “adult”, it’s because I want a story about someone w/ adult experiences. This woman has been kissed once in her life.

Slump ended! The YEARNING. What a good book so far 👏🏼
