I have a feeling this book won’t be anything less than devastating. The real question is will be Blood Over Bright Haven devastating and I feel like a better person for having read it… or will it be The Poppy Wars devastating where I just stare at a wall for an hour.

Hmm. The writing is good and the magic and plot are interesting so far. But… even for being historically inspired… the FMC is **16** and just became the prince’s betrothed/ top concubine and I’m not sure I’ll be able to continue if the poor girl actually has to be subjected to any of that.
