this is unfortunately well-written Taylor/Travis fanfiction and like,, I want to be mad (and I have been getting some second hand embarrassment) but it's just so damn cute

SO happy I took the advice of reading for vibes bc this book needs like one good editor to do a solid proofread, fixing the typos, word choice, tense, & scene continuity errors. That would make this a much stronger story. Nonetheless, I'm still having fun and just acting like I'm reading fanfiction that didn't have time for a beta reader 😅

Read a review where someone said to read for vibes not narrative structure so I'm adjusting my expectations so that I can enjoy the experience more 🥰 /gen

I am LIVING for this southern gothic horror

This fanfic is DENSE. But y'know the emotional payoff is abso-fucking-lutely worth it

This has been on my TBR for a WHILE but I've not been in a good enough mental place to feel comfortable reading it. Well, today the wifey best friend said I could read it, so here we are!!!

Ughhh Easton is literally fucking PERFECT 🤩 I'm a lil nervy to keep reading bc everything is good for everyone rn and I just KNOW something bad is going to happen 😫

this book has big Elle Kennedy's Off Campus series but I'm not mad, Easton is super fuckin adorable

I'm halfway through this book and I just don't like it :( the writing is not strong, the characters are pretty flat, the motivations don't make sense, and the spice ain't it either. do I DNF? I feel like I have to commit since I'm at the halfway point :|

I"M SO DAMN EXCITED!!!!! The Sugar Plum Faerie is one of my favorite characters and I'm so ready to spend another book with him. This also feels a lil like We're All Mad Here by Leann Belle and I'm here for it so let's fuckin gooooo

I'm not really one for Catholicism but y'know I see Poppy's point about how a hot, kinky priest could easily help convert me

This takes place just south of where I grew up and it feels so whack. Like the author is obviously also from there but like?? THIS story?? In small town Missouri?? Not mad, just confused 😅

This has got to be one of the funniest books I have ever read - please keep up this energy

And so begins my re-read of this marvelous series!! One of my goals is to read all of this world again within this year so that I can read the King of Scars duology with everything fresh in my mind

Keiran, and now Reaver, are the only redeeming qualities of this book. I love their wit and sarcasm esp compared to how STUPID Poppy & (more recently) Cas are.

Things I hate:
-7x per chapter Poppy needs to think about a very important plot point but she'll do that later
-if you're gonna have a knife kink just be honest, you're not "depraved"
-JUST DO THE GODDAMN JOINING ALREADY
-this is SO repetitive for no reason

I forgot how utterly stupid Poppy is. Ask as many questions as you want but don't fucking tell your enemy everything you know??? Keep some shit to yourself???

I was over this series at book 2 (pls just get an editor Jennifer) but I'm invested in getting to The Joining & completing my journey with this fantasy world after I'm done with this book.

I love the characters (esp Kieran) so I'm going to get through this book and be done.
