At the halfway point and still waiting for something brilliant or interesting to happen….

I thought I would follow kristen Hannah anywhere. Now, I cannot decide yet is this book is the most offensive poorly researched fairy tale / horror story about domestic violence that I’ve ever read. Tell me, do I finish it or not ??

Did not finish, and I can’t believe I am saying this. BW’s later books perfectly balance extreme
Situations with sensitivity and overall feel trauma informed. The psycho emotional dynamics in this book were a mess, and I just couldn’t get past it. The expectations put on the MC following what happened to her, especially as it relates to Ashen, simply made no sense.

I read half of this and DNF. Cant really believe this book is sold in stores. It’s not great bob.

DNF. I read half and gave up. This book as a novel feels plotless, and this book as social commentary feels like a heavy, depressing depiction of the pitfalls of modern life without any insight or levity.

Did not finish. Does not hold up. Also, I read like a hundred pages and a plot had not yet materialized ….
