After being pleasantly surprised by the third episode (the prose is outstanding, goddamn) episodes five and six made me consider violence, because Leopold Blooms fucking SoC is the most infuriating thing committed to paper in the 20th century. If this proves worth reading after all and if I ever pick it up again, this is my reminder to skip this miserable rambling..

This writing stlye feels like it's trying to be high lit and YA at the same time and it's not working for me on any level.

I basically rage-read the last 400 pages. Why? I don't know. This is one of the worst books I have ever read and I can't even pinpoint why.

I don't care about anyone or anything in this godforsaken "plot". I get, that it's not "just" a thriller, but the characters won't salvage anything, I'm pretty sure of that.

Am I getting too old for this?

I swear if I ever read a thriller, in which the characters don't act predictable as shit in the dumbest situations, I will throw myself a goddamn party.

Mindestanforderung, um dem Thrillergenre zugeordnet zu werden: die letzten 30% sollten dann doch spannend sein.
